M1 Support Services Awarded Fort Rucker Contract

Since 1955 two things has been the constant when comes to the maintenance being performed at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the first being the IAM&AW and the 2nd is the changing of contractors throughout the 62 years helicopters has been flying over Southeast Alabama. Today there comes another change, announced by the U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command, in that M1 Support Services out of Denton, Texas has been awarded the maintenance contract at Fort Rucker. M1 will perform maintenance services supporting the Army entry level and advanced as well as the Air Force Advanced Rotary Aviation Training mission. The estimated completion of the contract is September 30, 2027. M1 will take over the contract that is currently being held by Army Fleet Support/L3 Communications.

According to the M1 Support Services’ website, www.m1services.com, M1 Support Services is a “AS9110 certified business with a wide range of capabilities in aviation support services, logistics, information technology, training services, supply chain management, acquisition and facilities and equipment maintenance.”

M1 Support Services currently has some contracts with the IAM&AW and you can click on this link, www.goiam.org/news/one-base-two-contracts/, and find a little bit about how they treated some of our brothers and sisters at another location.

As we move closer to the transition, from one contractor to another, let us keep reminded that our mission at Fort Rucker is to provide the best Army/Air Force rotary wing maintenance and support in the world. Let us be reminded that our efforts support the modern day and future war fighters of the world.  There will be more information put out to everyone on the transition process as we draw closer and the Business Representatives and the Grievance/Negotiating Committee of the maintenance contract , and Local Lodge 2003 E-Board will help answer as many questions as possible and aide in the transition.
